LANDLORD Mark Edwards hopes his pub will be the toast of Cleveland's east coast this New Year.
Mr Edwards always has six to seven guest ales on tap in his cellars below The Plimsoll Line pub, in Redcar High Street.
But he will be serving up to 100 different beers from next Tuesday to February 28, during what is traditionally a quiet period for pubs.
The beers come from all over the UK and have weird names such as Titanic Full Steam Ahead, Kitchen Tormented Turnip, Ridley's Witchfinder, Vale Winter Solstice, Beartown Bearskinful, Abbey Ales Bellringer, Grainstore Steamin' Billy, and Stonehenge Pigswill.
The ales come from big and cottage-sized breweries.
Mr Edwards and his wife, Ingrid, are handing out menu- type leaflets to drinkers with the promise that the beer will be ordered if it can be obtained.
Mr Edwards said: "It's a great way to start the New Year, and I'm certain my customers will welcome it. The pub will definitely have the best choice of real ales anywhere in Redcar.''
