TWO people from east Cleveland got an unexpected Christmas present as part of a clothing store's birthday celebrations. Customers at Greenwood's in High Street, Redcar, were asked to put their names into a hat for a prize draws to help the chain of men's clothing stores celebrate its 140th birthday. All 140 stores across the country were given a bottle of champagne and a colour portable television to give away. Redcar street entertainer Norman Evans, with his helper Robert Kneeshaw, was asked to draw the names, and the lucky winners were Eric Rix, of Guisborough, who won the television, and Phyllis Jones, of New Marske, who won the champagne.
