EVERY picture tells a story - and the murals at a Leeming Bar restaurant reflect the life of the family which founded the village's motel.
The walls of The Lodge now boast the work of Leyburn's Lynn Ward, who has been working hard to create an indoor townscape. But each of the buildings portrayed has a connection to the family of managing director and county councillor, Karl Les.
Benedict's Bakery, for example, is a reference to one of Mr Les's sons, while Stan's Hardware recalls the time when his father used his Rolls Royce to collect vital DIY materials for running repairs at the motel.
Mr Les brought Lynn in after spotting some of her work at Tennants auction centre.
He said: "All this began as a good idea but, seeing how Lynn has done her work, it has become a brilliant idea.
"Some customers have been playing tricks on others by telling them to go behind one of those doors to see if anyone is there!'
