TICKETS are still available to see Irish stars The Corrs in a fundraising concert at Newcastle's Telewest Arena.
The band added an extra date, January 8, to their current tour in support of the British Lung Foundation.
The Corrs' mother, Jean, died last year in Newcastle's Freeman Hospital while waiting for a lung transplant.
The group, and father Gerry, thought the gig would be a fitting way of remembering Jean and to raise cash for research into lung disease.
Collections will be made at the charity concert on behalf of the British Lung Foundation.
Paul Corris, professor of thoracic medicine at the Freeman Hospital, who treated Jean Corr, said: "We need such support if we are to develop new and more effective treatments which will benefit people who struggle for breath every day."
Prof Corris and his colleagues plan to develop the Sir William Leech Centre for Lung Research, and proceeds from the concert will go towards funding an expansion of facilities.
To book tickets call the Telewest Arena box office on 0191-401 8000.
