STAFF at Seaham Comprehensive School are celebrating after a good report from Ofsted inspectors.
Their report said: "The best features in teaching are good relationships, management of behaviour, and clear expectations based on good subject knowledge.
"Weaknesses are a lack of challenge, and low expectations of pupils' capacity for working independently."
Other strengths identified in the report included a significant improvement in GCSE results, a positive pupil attitude to staff, and good access to technology and extra-curricular activities.
Headteacher Bob Dingle said: "The conclusions are very positive and indicate this is an improving school."
