Darlington have asked the Football League to fix a new date for the re-arranged game with Exeter City.
Quakers suggested to Exeter that the game - postponed at 1pm last Saturday with the St James Park surface frozen - could be fixed for Tuesday, January 16 but the Devon club turned them down flat.
Darlington public relations director Luke Raine said: "We suggested that date because we will be playing at Plymouth on the Saturday before, and we were thinking of staying in Devon until the Tuesday. But Exeter have said that date isn't available, so we have put the matter into the hands of the league."
Exeter admitted that Saturday's postponement could cost them up to £15,000 in gate receipts and under league rules, the Devon club have to pay Quakers' expenses for the return trip when the game is re-arranged.
Tonight's Albany Durham Challenge Cup tie against West Auckland at Feethams has been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch, and re-arranged for Monday, January 8.
l Rotherham have signed striker Richard Barker from Macclesfield for £100,000.
