A MAN convicted of killing his three children has vowed that no one will stop him from mourning the youngsters.
Graeme Alderton has revealed in a letter, written while still in prison, how he feels "guilt day in, day out" that he is alive and they are dead.
The 35-year-old was jailed for ten years in 1995 for manslaughter, but was released recently.
Charlotte, four, Amy, three, and one-year-old Dean Alexander died in a blaze at their home, in Peterlee, in 1994.
Alderton was cleared of murdering the children and attempting to murder their pregnant mother, his partner Lisa Alexander, during a retrial at Teesside Crown Court.
However, he was convicted of manslaughter and arson.
Alderton said: "I do not intend to live within the Peterlee area, but no one shall stop me from taking my children flowers.
"All I can say at the moment is since the day my children died, I no longer think of going on nice holidays, winning lots of money, or anything as good as these things, due to the guilt I feel day in, day out, of me being alive and them not."
Lisa Alexander gave birth to the couple's fourth child, Daniel Graeme, a few months after the blaze and is believed to have moved from Peterlee
