A GRIEVING family has vowed to continue the work of young mum and charity worker Jane Storey, who died after major surgery.
Mrs Storey, 33, of Castleside, near Consett, died after suffering from liver problems and a rare form of leukaemia just two days before Christmas.
Her husband, Billy, has promised to continue her fundraising efforts for the charity, Liver North, which supports research at the Freeman Hospital, in Newcastle.
Mr Storey, a lorry driver, who is now planning his future with his four-year-old daughter, Hope, will hand over a £3,000 cheque to Liver North next week in the Horse and Groom pub.
Mrs Storey's medical problems were discovered seven years ago.
Her rare form of leukaemia had lain dormant for 12 years.
Mrs Storey's funeral service took place three days after Christmas at St John's Parish Church, in Castleside
