A TEESDALE band may have to disband in its tenth anniversary year because of a lack of members.
Teesdale Pipes and Drums is down to its last ten members, and is struggling to meet its commitments for the coming year.
The band, which was formed in 1991, used to have more than 25 people playing regularly, but work and other commitments have seen the numbers dwindle.
Organisers fear for the future unless they can drum up support quickly.
Pipe major Barry Waldron said: "The situation is very serious, and at present we will be unable to fulfil our engagements for this year.
"We do a lot of good work around the area and it would be a great shame if we could not continue in our tenth anniversary year."
The band meets at the Masonic Hall, Staindrop, from 7pm to 10pm, on Wednesdays, and 2pm to 5pm, on Sundays.
Anyone who is interested in becoming a member will be given free training and a free loan of an instrument.
