Chester-le-Street Ladies attempt to pull-off their second FA Cup shock of the season when they travel to Newport tomorrow.
The Cestrians beat Sheffield Wednesday 4-2 in the previous round and a win against their Welsh counterparts, who play at one level above Chester-le-Street, will take them into the last 16.
Newport play in the Southern equivalent of the league Sheffield Wednesday compete in, so the trip will hold no fears for the Durham side.
"We're in with a shout," admitted a cautious Bill Godward, who is secretary and founder of the club.
But their success is costing Chester-le-Street dear as the 550-mile round-trip to Newport is going to cost the team around £600, including an overnight stay and hire of a mini-bus.
Each player has had to pay £10 subs money - more than twice the normal amount.
And despite seeking assistance from local businesses the club is still lacking financial support.
"We got the same response as we did two years ago when I sent 75 letters out. We got two replies then, both of which said 'thanks, but no thanks'.
"This time we haven't had anything back."
