Willington League
Hunwick Quarry Burn entertained Willington Black Horse Tavern, who have their eyes set on a high finish, and went three up with singles wins from Dave Robsob, Leanne Cunningham and Keith Thurlow. However the visitors came back to level when Neville Ridley, Andrew featherstone and Martin Eales won the remaining singles.
The Horse made their victory with wins in the first two doubles through Donald Young with Ian Woodhall and Craig Eales with Andrew Featherstone. However the home side fought back to win the final doubles through Dale Edmundson and Keith Thurlow.
At the holiday break the race for the Individual Player of the Year sees John Bolam of Willington Brewer's Droop A and Phil Blyth of the Prospect Club with unbeaten records from their seven matches played. Lee Sample of the Prospect Club is in third place with six wins from six matches.

Bishop Auckland League
The league season is completed, apart from the Individual and Pairs finals at Bishop Auckland Football Club on Thursday, January 11. However, there are some outstanding matches are still to be played.

County Super League
A pre-season meeting will be held at the Ferryhill Club (6pm) on Sunday, 14 January when all teams must be represented.
The new season will commence on Sunday 28 January with nine teams competing. They are: Bishop Auckland A and B, Chester-le-Street, Crook A and B, Durham, Ferryhill, Newton Aycliffe and Shildon. There is a space for one more team and anyone interested in filling the position, which will qualify players to play for Durham County and even for England, should be present at the meeting. If further advance information is required the treasurer, Steve Wray on 01740 655591 will be able to help.
