A NORTH Yorkshire school was yesterday basking in the praise of a team of Government education inspectors.
Staff at Bullamoor Junior School, at Northallerton, were lauded for their strong leadership, effective teaching and good assessment procedures.
The team, from the Office of Standards in Education (Ofsted) visited the school last October, and their report pinpointed a rise in standards since their previous inspection.
Art and music were singled out for particular praise, and the strong support given to pupils with special needs was also highlighted.
The inspectors said pupils were respected and valued, were enthusiastic about lessons and out-of-school activities and enjoyed going to school.
The single key issue they picked out where there was room for improvement was short-term planning - and the required changes are now being implemented.
Headteacher Bob Wallace said: "Thanks go to colleagues for their dedication and to parents for their ongoing support.
"The hard work and support of the governors, the positive attitude of the children, and their support for each other, has ensured Bullamoor is a school we can all be proud of."
