Undiscovered talent has been tapped by a local art group to create a challenging exhibition.
The Discovery Centre Art Group in the Wear Valley meets once a month.
Its members, including two professional artists and a retired electrician, meet at the Bishop Auckland centre.
The group has just assembled its first exhibition, which is as diverse as its membership.
Exhibition Number One includes a guillotine-like sculpture, sensitive watercolours of mothers and daughters, and paintings created from ink and salt.
The work of more than 15 artists is featured, including Weardale based artists Debbie Loane and Maureen Thomas.
The exhibition runs until Saturday, January 27, and admission is free. The Discovery Centre is open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, between 11am and 4pm.
