A 12-YEAR-OLD boy was recovering in hospital at the weekend following a roller-blade accident.
A Durham Police spokesman said it appeared that the boy was crossing Passfield Way, Peterlee, when he was hit by a Vauxhall Cavalier, at 5.30pm, on Friday.
He suffered a broken leg and a cut head and was detained in Hartlepool General Hospital, where his condition was described as comfortable.
The car driver, a 46-year-old woman from Easington Colliery, was uninjured.
Passfield Way was closed for almost two hours following the accident. Witnesses are asked to contact Durham Police's accident investigation unit, on 0191-375 2159
