DEVELOPMENTS at Hoult Estates in Newcastle are continuing at a pace with the completion of the first two phases of a massive new programme which has helped create 60 extra jobs.
The re-development at the Newcastle site has seen the first phase, Maling Court, completed wth the creation of six factory units.
The second stage, Cobblestone Court, was completed with an extra 14 factory units, and the two combined have created an extra 32000sq ft of factory units on top of the existing businesses already trading on the Hoult Estates site.
The completion of these two extra phases was made possible by the assistance of a single regeneration grant from the Newcastle East End Partnership and also European funding from the European Regional Development Fund - both of which give assistance to areas of urban deprivation.
Owner of Hoult Estates, Fred Hoult said: "There's so many people we'd like to thank for their help and support - but I'd like to personally thank Paul Gallagher and his team at The Newcastle East End Partnership as well as Dale Bolland from the economic development group of the city council.
"They have been of terrific assistance."
The completion makes the total space occupied by Hoult Estates, located just off Walker Road in the East End of the city, at well over 200,000 sq. feet.
There are 50 businesses now trading at Hoult Estates in existing and new premises.
Alongside these are the many companies which use the storage faciities for both storage and archive space with Lock N Store, a subsdiary of Hoult Estates.
The Hoult family bought the site when it was The Maling Pottery just after the Second World War and it retained its primary function until 1962.
They have nurtured the current make up of Hoult Estates into a vast site of thrivng trading propsperty and entrepreneurship - with more phases of development planned for the future.
