AN appeal for used postage stamps has attracted its best response ever.
This year's campaign by Redcar printer and stationer Sotheran's, brought in a record haul.
In the appeal, run just before Christmas, people were asked to donate their stamps to raise money for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
Each year, Sotheran's collects one million stamps, which raise enough to pay for the basic training of a puppy.
Peter Sotheran, managing director, said: "We have received more than 100,000 stamps in the last four weeks. This is the best response in all the years we have been collecting. Every post brought in dozens of envelopes full of stamps."
People can send stamps at any time to Sotheran's Stationery Shop, Queen Street, Redcar, TS10 1AF
