AN exhibition which urges people not to forget the Nazi Holocaust goes on show today.
Darlington Borough Council's display has been organised in conjunction with groups in the town as part of the first national Holocaust Memorial Day, which takes place on January 27.
The event is being held to mark the 56th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz concentration camp, and is expected to be held annually.
A focal point of the exhibition is work by art students from Darlington's Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College, who created pieces based on a brief relating to the Holocaust.
Darlington Mayor Councillor Dorothy Long, said after viewing the exhibition at Darlington Town Hall: "I'm just astonished at the standard of work. Yet again they responded so well, so thoughtfully.
"It is really encouraging to see young people working in partnership with the council like this.
