THE site of a former battery manufacturer is to be re-charged by a new landlord.
The former Eveready Complex will get a new lease of life after being bought by Philadelphia Properties in November.
The site, in Tanfield Lea, near Stanley, will be launched as Tanfield Lea Industrial Park.
Philadelphia Properties spokesman David Pearson said: "The buildings were constructed to a very high standard when the complex was developed just over 30 years ago, and have been well maintained by the previous owners.
"There is little work to be completed prior to letting the premises and we are confident that there will be extensive interest in the site."
Accommodation comprises 315,652sq ft of floor space and up to 8.8 acres of storage land, which will be sub-divided to fit the needs of prospective tenants.
The site incorporates a range of factory units ideally equipped for manufacturing, several with cranes, lifts and electricity and gas supplies already installed.
Future plans include the implementation of a security system by agreement with occupants.
There will also be connection to fibre optic cable in order to access the latest broad band technology.
