FUNDRAISERS at a Bishop Auckland hospice are appealing to people to give their old Yellow Pages telephone books to help raise money.
New phone books are already being distributed in the region, and the old ones can help raise funds for The Butterwick Hospice through recycling. The initiative follows the big response to a Christmas card recycling campaign, which runs until January 26.
Old copies of the Yellow Pages can be dropped off at the hospice throughout February and March, at Macmillan House, on Woodhouse Lane, Bishop Auckland.
Organisers have asked for them not to be included with ordinary newspaper bundles.
Any offices needing a high volume collection should contact Beryl Anderson on (01388) 603003.
