POLICE are warning youths someone could be killed if a spate of brick-throwing attacks on cars and buses continue.
In the latest incident, at 2.30pm on Tuesday, a brick was thrown from a bridge over the A688 in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, at a moving bus, shattering the windscreen. No one was hurt.
The attack happened three hours after a brick was thrown from the same bridge at a Renault Clio, narrowly missing the windscreen and leaving a dent and scratches in the bonnet. The driver, who has not been named, was shocked but unhurt.
The two acts follow a serious of brick-throwing incidents around Darlington, Spennymoor and Bishop Auckland over the past two to three months.
They include a brick being thrown at a bus travelling down the B1278 at Trimdon Grange, on Saturday, at 6.50pm. A side window was smashed causing £350 worth of damage, but no one was injured.
Detective Constable Walter Hirst, of Newton Aycliffe police, said: "It's a very silly thing to do and could have serious consequences. Someone could even be killed."
l Two youths have been arrested in connection with the two Bishop Auckland incidents and released on police bail.
