Planners are closer to implementing new parking schemes in a congested part of Durham City.
A number of streets in the Gilesgate part of the city are in line for the introduction of permit holder-only restrictions.
Following a consultation exercise, some residents in Lower Gilesgate have objected to plans for a mixed pay and display and permit holder scheme.
They say they want a residents-only scheme, so county councillors agreed yesterday to reballot objectors, while proceeding with the rest of the scheme, which is part of a project revolutionising parking in the city
