POSSIBLE speed restrictions in an east Cleveland village are to be discussed at a public meeting next week.
Councillor Christine Swales, who represents Liverton and Liverton Mines on Loftus Town Council, is worried about motorists speeding through the villages, off the A171 Teesside to Whitby road.
Coun Swales is trying to secure funding through Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council's Safer Streets project for devices such as speed humps, to prevent people endangering lives along the road.
However, in order to secure funding, residents must be shown to be putting forward their own proposals and gathering support from neighbours.
The meeting takes place next Friday, at 7pm, in the community centre, Liverton Mines
