DSRM switched their game against Old Boys to Abbey Road and a poor surface did little to enhance good football. The sides were level at half-time, courtesy of goals from Andrew Root for the home side and Stuart Alderson for Old Boys who raised their game in the second half to run out comfortable 4-1 winners with further goals from Alderson, James Gallagher and Brian Cosgrove.

Post Boy inflicted another defeat on Archdeacon who never gave up trying and were rewarded with a consolation goal two minutes from time. Earlier, Paul Robson and John Harrison put Post Boy two up at the interval with Jason Hartwell adding a third.

Shuttle and Loom took advantage of the wind to lead 2-0 at the interval against Rothmans. The second half was much more even, both sides scoring once, although Shuttle and Loom were always dangerous on the break. Shuttle's scorers were men of the match Kevin Baines, Darren McElvanna and Graeme Dutton, Scott Shield replied.

Both Spraire and Newton Aycliffe looked rusty after their enforced lay off. Spraire, however, led at the interval, courtesy of Steven Appleby. Aycliffe bounced back in the second-half to lead courtesy of a brace from Jason Wing. Spraire kept battling and regained the lead through Gavin Rose and a second from Appleby, Craig Evans gained Aycliffe a share of the points with an equaliser ten minutes from time.

The league's representatives fared badly in three Durham Minor Cup ties. Chilton Seniors lost by the odd goal in three at home to Norton Albany Social and RA Social lost 4-2 at home to Hartlepool Welfare Athletic,

Killinghall Arms felt hard done by in their 7-3 defeat at Sunderland Aquatic Sports. Killie had a player dismissed after only three minutes, but still led 3-1 at one stage only to find themselves 4-3 down with ten minutes remaining. However. Their hosts rubbed salt in the wounds with three goals in the final ten minutes, Andy Roberts, Martin Gayles and Jon Henderson were Killies' scorers.
