Huntsman got off to an ideal start when they scored within 20 seconds off Brotton's kick-off as John Kirkwood latched onto a misplaced pass and scored from the edge of the penalty area.
And Huntsman never looked back, travelling home with a 4-2 win.
With the wind behind them, Huntsman dictated the early play and Jason Downing was just over with an opportunist shot, Kirkwood's header was wide and Mark Taylor was denied by Ian Fishlock - all in the first ten minutes.
Kirkwood made it two, slotting home a through ball from Downing who ran the midfield. Kirkwood made it three on 25 minutes, Downing again the provider. Downing forced a good save out of Fishlock as he looked to get on the score sheet but it was Shaun Robinson who got Huntsman's fourth when he took the ball off Wagner's toes as he shaped to shoot after dribbling through the defence. Brotton finally made an impression in the first half as corners in quick succession saw Ian Moore having to tip over a Keven Brown header.
Brotton pulled a goal back after 20 minutes when Ryan Johnson got on the end of a long through ball and scored off a post. With five minutes left Brotton got a deserved second goal when substitute Steven Bedingfield turned well in the area and fired a left-foot shot into the roof of the net.
