A RESTAURANT is offering a substantial reward for the return of a wood sculpture stolen by thieves.
A hibiscus wood carving of a number of dolphins was taken from Sunderland restaurant 11 Tavistock Place while staff were working in the lower level of the two-storey restaurant.
Owner Mark Hird is offering a reward for the return of the carving, which was made specially for the restaurant in Indonesia.
He said yesterday: "It's one of a number of pieces we had brought over for the restaurant, and it has huge sentimental value."
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the piece can contact Mr Hird, in confidence, on 04022 91954.
