WHO says hospital food is always boring? At one North-East infirmary meal times are about to get a touch of spice.
Grateful curry house boss Abdul Latif thanked Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary staff who nursed him through a heart scare with 1,000 packets of mixed curry spices.
The owner of Rupali Restaurant, in Newcastle's Bigg Market, suffered a heart attack on New Year's Eve and decided to thank staff who helped him recuperate by donating the spices, which include nine different varieties.
Anyone keen on korma, balti, Madras, bhuna, jal frezi, masala, rogan josh, vindaloo or curry hell, an even stronger spice, can go along to the hospital's restaurant.
