A CHEST infection stopped a police officer's effort to raise funds for charity.
Inspector Harry Simpson was ordered by his doctor to quit halfway through his 600-mile stint on a gym rowing machine, after suffering a chest infection over Christmas.
However, the 47-year-old community safety officer with Cleveland Police, is determined to achieve his goal on March 16 - Red Nose Day.
"Due to the lay-off, I'm 93,000 metres behind. I'm confident of finishing on time, but it will mean increasing my sessions at the gym. I will have to up my rowing - even it it's killing me," said Insp Simpson
