A DALES school's bid for signs to warn drivers of children crossing a road for PE lessons seems likely to get the all-clear today.
Pupils from the St Peter and St Paul School, in Leyburn, have to cross the busy A684 to reach gym facilities.
Road markings and signs have been upgraded, but a 36-signature petition urges North Yorkshire County Council to do more. A meeting today will be asked to approve extra signs close to where the children cross.
The Department of Transport and the Regions has to agree, but a report recommends approval by County Hall
