A Darlington man bowled over the opposition in a recent competition.
Bill Tiley, who works for PMB car dealership in the town, triumphed in the Darlington Festival of Bowls, held at the Morrisons Bowling Centre.
Bill has been bowling for nearly 30 years and he entered his first competition in 1972.
"I'm delighted to have won the championship after so many good bowlers had entered the competition," he said.
"It's nice to think that all the hours of practice have been worthwhile, and that all my hard work and determination paid off.
