A CASE of mistaken identity led to hundreds of pounds being raised for a local hospice.
Bar manager Dave Graham, at Humphry's, in Darlington, meant to tell his staff they were raising money for St Teresa's Hospice in the town over the Christmas period, but instead told them they were raising it for St Trinian's.
He got a shock when his staff turned up dressed for the part, as cheeky schoolgirls, including some of the men.
He said: "It was a slip of the tongue really. I was telling the staff we were going to be raising money over Christmas by putting buckets on the doors with the doormen, for customers to put their spare change in. Instead of Teresa's, I said St Trinian's, and they got into the spirit of things."
It all worked out well in the end and the bar raised £351.12 for the hospice.
Mr Graham said: "We'll be aiming to beat that figure this year.
