ANIMAL welfare staff are seeking homes for a litter of five puppies.
The Labrador cross puppies were handed over to the Darlington branch of the National Animal Sanctuaries Support League.
They were given to the branch by a Shildon man who found that his dog had unexpectedly given birth to the five.
The puppies, which are about 12 weeks old, have been vaccinated and would prefer a home where someone is in for at least a couple of hours a day.
A garden where they could play is also preferable. Pauline Wilson, of the National Animals Sanctuaries Support League, said: "They are cute but hard work. If we can home two together that would be great, but individual homes are also ideal."
