A MAN was injured when two men approached him from behind and tripped him to the ground to steal his shopping.
After an afternoon shopping, followed by a drink in the pub, the man was walking along Park Lane, Darlington, when the attack happened.
As he approached the junction with Milner Road, he was attacked from behind by two men.
Putting a foot in front of his legs and pushing him forward by the neck, one of the men tripped him and stole his carrier bag, containing trousers, a shirt and deodorant.
The man suffered severe grazing and bruising to the right hand side of his face in the attack, which happened at around 7.15pm on Monday.
His attackers, who ran off immediately after the attack, are described as being of slim build and approximately 5ft 8ins tall.
