MONEY is rolling in for this year's Mayor's Fund in Ferryhill.
Mayor Edith Whitfield is trying to raise £16,000 to replace the town's Christmas lights.
Money raised from the Mayor's dinner, a concert by local band Rio and two tombolas in the Market Square has raised £1,600.
That total does not include cash from a carol service, which has yet to be counted.
Ferryhill Town Band is holding a concert on February 10, in the Methodist chapel, as part of the fundraising effort. Places will be limited and tickets, costing £2.50, are available now from Ferryhill Town Hall
