DOZENS of social services workers received certificates of achievement yesterday from Darlington Borough Council's deputy leader, Councillor Bill Dixon.
Sandra Dashwood, Mark Miller and Gary Parle received the Practice Teaching Award, which enables qualified social workers to supervise students.
Jean Langthorne, Alison Madgwick, Mac Powton and Mary Sweeney achieved a D32/D33 Assessors Award, which allows them to assess standards of care NVQ students.
Anglea Airey, Amanda Ashdown, Sarah Cater, Ann Catterick, Shirley Diaper, James Dunn, Maria Fawcett, Susan Hodgson, Josephine O'Mahony, Tracey Percival, Craig Walker, Lynn Cadman, Valerie Cummings, Julia Gibson, Pamela Rutter and Flora White achieved NVQ Level 2 in care.
NVQ Level 3 promoting independence qualifications were awarded to Linda Dickinson, Paul Dickinson, Glynis Hillary, Susan Hodgson, Maggie Metcalfe, Christine Peel, Louise Robinson, Kay Seymour and Jean Smith.
Roger Fitzpatrick-Odahamier and Paulette Renteurs-Hunter completed NVQ Level 3 in caring for children and young people.
Introductory certificates in management went to Lynne Carter, Michelle Clark, Maggie Metcalfe, Caroline Moss, Lynn Queenan, Denise Sunman, Lynne Walker and Christine Bearpark.
Monica Sowerby gained the Diploma in Social Work.
