VISITORS to a new city centre will be given help to find their way around.
Sunderland is in the middle of a multi-million pound transformation which has included work to create a new Winter Gardens, along with the revamp of Mowbray Park and expansion of The Bridges shopping centre.
An updated pocket-sized city centre guide, complete with illustrations, has been produced to show the new areas which also include the Park Lane transport interchange.
The map contains useful information on access and car parking, transport links, leisure facilities and a shopping guide.
Chris Rawlinson, Sunderland city centre manager, said: "We felt that the time was right to produce a new city centre guide.
"Our previous map was very well received by both businesses and the public, but needed updating following significant and positive changes which have reshaped Sunderland during the past year.
"Future redevelopment work has also been highlighted to prevent the map becoming outdated in our rapidly developing city centre."
A total of 100,000 maps have been produced and are available free from the tourist information centre, The Bridges' information stand and other city centre locations.
They can also be obtained by ringing city centre management on 0191-566 0907
