A LUCKY betting shop punter yesterday won £35,900 with a single £12 bet.
The Bishop Auckland man, who does not wish to be named, placed his bet at Ladbrokes, on Cockton Hill, Bishop Auckland, on a lottery type gamble called Fourty-Niners.
Punters pick up to four numbers and put varying amounts of money on each.
The mystery man's four numbers, 6, 24, 42 and 48, all came up.
Deputy manager of the branch, Sandra Hall, said it was the most money they had ever paid out.
