RECRUITS are wanted to help complete the 2001 census in Darlington.
The part-time workers will visit 49,000 homes, delivering two tonnes of census forms, which would stretch six miles if laid end to end.
The census begins on April 29, when everyone in England and Wales will be questioned to gather information to help plan services, including health and education for the next ten years. The forms take about ten minutes to complete.
Janine Turner, census area manager for Darlington, said: "These jobs give people the opportunity to earn a bit of extra money and do something for the community.
In Darlington 12 census team leaders and 100 census takers are needed.
Training is provided and anyone over the age of 18 can apply. For an application form contact the JobCentre or call the helpline on (0845) 3062001
