PUPILS at a Bishop Auckland school have been honoured for their hard work, progress and achievements.
Bishop Barrington School's presentation evening saw youngsters from years eight to 11 awarded certificates and trophies for their work last year.
A trophy in memory of the Reverend Nick Beddow, a former governor of the school, was one of the main awards.
Mr Beddow, who was vicar of Escomb and Witton Park, died three years ago from a heart attack after a brave fight against multiple sclerosis.
Year 11 pupil Louise Vardy was presented with the trophy for showing the greatest endeavour.
Amanda Cruddace and Daniel Simpson received a trophy, donated by the Friends of Bishop Barrington Association, for youngsters who have shown the most improvement in Key Stage Three - years seven to nine.
Last year's school-leavers were also presented with their records of achievement and their GCSE certificates.
Keith Cotgrave, headteacher, said: "We are all very proud of these pupils who have worked hard over the last year and are now enjoying their success with these awards.
"Our GCSE results this year were excellent and this reflects the high level of commitment on the part of both staff and pupils."
The school's new science block opens in April and it will also be introducing a Media Studies GCSE to the syllabus
