The home side again took the lead when Karen Jones (14.76) beat Clair Stainsby (15.93) 3-2 before Vera Oliphant (15.18) beat Sheila Smart (13.23) 3-0 to make it 2-2. Sheila Jarret (13.13) beat Dorothy Pounder (13.19) 3-1 which made it 3-2 to the Sheraton after the singles. Burn Valley won both pairs to make the final score 4-3 to Burn Valley.
Cricketers Arms were at home to Wings SC and it was one of those matches when just nothing went right for the home side. Rhonda Page (13.36) beat Trish Manton (12.08) 3-2. Vee Page (17.10) beat Karen Monaghan (13.90) 3-0. Kath Allison (10.55) beat Jane Andrews (11.20) 3-2, Pat J Smith (16.89) beat Louise Allan (16.40) 3-0 and lady of the match Jackie Allison (19.78) beat Marj Gunn (17.65) 3-0. Wings also won both pairs which meant the final score was 7-0 to Wings.
Billingham SC entertained M and D SC. Mandy Stephens (14.90) beat Sandra Reed (12.77) 3-1 to put the home side one up but from then on it was all downhill. Barbara Bradley (15.35) beat Wendy Graham (15.04) 3-2, Tina Watson (14.88) beat Pauline Heal (11.15) 3-0, Gail Carhart (14.05) beat Joyce Dunlop (11.65) 3-0 and Karen Helmore (14.45) beat Christine Cole (12.86) 3-0. M and D won both pairs so final score was 6-1 to the M and D Club.

Billingham were at home to Marske at Billingham TUC where man of the match. Steve Robinson (27.80) beat Tony Liddell (25.48) 3-2 to put Marske one up. Joe Nicholson (26.86) beat Chris Hornby (22.95) 3-1 to level the match. But then Phil MacKay (23.78) beat Peter Maw (23.62) 3-1 and Glenn Moody (26.84) beat Steve Conway (22.25) 3-0. To make the score 3-1 to Marske. But then came the fight back. Tiny Walters (20.31) beat John Peoples 3-0 and Andy Huskinson (21.60) beat Ronnie Mackay (19.07) 3-1 to tie the match. In the decider Tony Mitchell (24.64) beat Jack McKinley (21.00) 3-0 so final score was 4-3 to Marske.
Hartlepool were at home to League leaders Stockton at Travellers Rest, Stockton. Man of the match Rob Grundy (27.83) beat Dave Wilson (19.26) 3-0, to put Hartlepool in front but it was soon level when Brian Boulton (22.23) beat Chris Plant (21.43) 3-0 and Stockton took the lead when Col Johnson (20.88) beat Jason Steele 3-0. Mick Hornsey (22.60) beat Lenny Ransom 3-2 to level the match. Allan Snabel (27.33) beat George Ray (21.48) 3-0 and Neil Young (26.84) beat Fred Page 3-0 to make the score 4-2 to Stockton. Tony Embleton (22.88) beat Jim Bannister (22.06) 3-1 to make the final score 4-3 to Stockton.
Thirsk were at home to Stokesley at Thirsk RBL. Martyn Bulman (19.88) beat Mick Garthwaite 3-1 to put Stokesley in front. With Crook Coach and Horses holding a massive lead of 33 points with a match in hand and an unbeaten record, the attention has turned to the race for the runners-up spot. After the early runners from Tow Law Black Horse, Crook Travellers Rest and the Victoria Club have slipped back, Tow Law New Market B are in second place, just two points ahead of Crook Queen's Head.

Crook Bar 56 managed their fourth win of the season as they pulled off a shock when they beat the visiting second placed Crook Three Blue Bells by the odd point. League leaders, Crook Mill House took advantage to stretch their lead to eight points with a good home win over Crook Coach and Horses. Crook Royal Sun are in third place but trail the Bells by 12 points.
The leading individual scorers were Christine Ward with 124 for Bar 56 and Donna Bibby with 121 for the Mill House, while Carol Haygarth made the best check out of the week with a 92 finish.
