Willington Black Horse Inn just came through against the visiting Willington Club when Joe Patterson beat Micky Irwin in the deciding captain's game. The home side had singles wins from Tony Claughan, Shane Parkinson and Joe Patterson with Alan Walker and Bobby Jackson replying. Tony Claughan and Joe Patterson took the first doubles for the Horse with Alan Walker and Colin Walker taking the second for the visitors.
The top team, Oakenshaw Club only collected two points from their home game with the Victoria Club but still lead Willington Cottles by four points. Willington Black Horse Tavern are in third place, six points adrift of Cottles.

Esh Stag's Head lost their top spot in the table when they were beaten by the odd point at Tow Law North Point. Angela Armstrong put the Point ahead but then the Stag's took three in a row through T. March, J. Hodgson and M. Walker. However, S. Simmonds and I. Blacker took the final two singles to level the match. The Stag's went ahead by taking the first doubles but the home side clinched victory by winning the last two doubles.
Billy Row Club's big win over the Sunniside Moss Inn took them to the top of the table with the Stag's Head a point behind. Tow Law New Market B and Tow Law Station are two points behind the Stag's, but the Station have a match in hand.

Crook League
Willington Market pulled off a good home victory over Crook Travellers Rest B with singles wins for Syd Trow, John Blackett, Gary Trow and Michael Toward, while Gary Trow and John Blackett added the doubles. The Travellers only points came with singles wins from John Mason and Doug Bowey.
There was a major change in places at the top of the First Division after Crook Belle Vue only dropped one point at former league leaders, Crook Travellers Rest A. This win moved Belle Vue into second place one point behind Crook Olde Horse She A, while the Travellers Rest A have to share third place with the Royal Sun, two points behind Belle Vue.

Willington & District League
Ithe top match of the week Hunwick Club went into a winning 3-0 lead against the visiting Willington Market with wins from Dave Thompson, Alan Carr and Ian Richardson. The visitors fought back to hold on to equal third place in the table when Brian Greensmith and Terry Thompson won to make the result respectable.
Sunnybrow Brown Trout upset the visiting leaders, Oakenshaw Club with an odd point victory in the decider. Paul Parkin and Dave Yates won for the Trout with Mark Kitching and Frankie Lythe levelling but in the decider the home side went to victory when Ian Stoker beat Kenny Plumpton.
Oakenshaw Club now lead the table by one point from Hunwick Club.
