THE Christmas post run by scouts and cubs in East Cleveland covered a wider area and was a big success.
The boys delivered almost 34,000 cards at 10p a time. In Skelton and Brotton they handled 7,800 cards. In Guisborough, where the scheme started only last year, deliveries almost trebled to more than 4,000. Loftus where the scheme began ten years ago, handled 9,500 cards. Marske had six collection boxes and dealt with 6,000 cards and in New Marske the figure was 2,500. Saltburn, in its third year, made £400 from 4,000 cards with Barclays Bank expected to double the sum
