Coronation Street star Vicky Entwistle last night insisted she had done nothing wrong after being arrested over an alleged assault on a man.
Vicky, who plays loudmouthed Janice Battersby in the soap, said her arrest, in connection with an incident in Sackville Street, Manchester city centre in the early hours, had been a "very traumatic experience".
She was questioned over the alleged attack, in which a 40-year-old man sustained facial injuries, before being released on police bail pending further inquiries until February 25.
Speaking outside Granada Studios, 5ft tall Vicky said last night: "I have done nothing wrong and I have every confidence in the British justice system. I am very confident of the outcome.
Looking visibly shaken, said she did not know the man involved. "I was very scared and felt threatened," she said.
