THE £98m Metro extension from Newcastle to Sunderland is bang on track according to Metro and Railtrack bosses.
The Metro extension to South Hylton, due for completion in January 2002, has been delayed in recent months due to problems caused by vandalism and bad weather.
However, in a public statement from the Railtrack/ Nexus partnership, bosses made clear that work is continuing apace on the project.
During the next few weeks more than 20,000 newsletters will be distributed, which include information about construction and environmental issues.
Public exhibitions are being held in public buildings where Nexus and Railtrack project teams will available to answer any questions which members of the public may have.
