POLICE say they are keeping an open mind about the death of a pensioner found in the River Tees.
The body of 81-year-old Lawrence Holliday was found in the river by the Princess Diana bridge in Stockton on Friday.
A passer-by spotted Mr Holliday at 1pm and Cleveland police worked with the underwater team from Northumbrian police to recover his body.
Mr Holliday, of Hartburn, Stockton, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers would like to talk to anyone who saw Mr Holliday between Thursday morning and when he was found.
