VISITORS to one of Teesside's museums this weekend will be given the chance to find out about its behind-the-scenes work, while also taking a peek into their own personal pasts.
Stockton Borough Council museums service and the Friends of Preston Park are hosting an event with fun and informative sessions on the museum's collections, new attractions and history in general - both local and individual.
The event, at Preston Hall Museum, on Saturday, will take place from 11am to 12.30pm, with staff speaking about how museums care for their collections, and how local history can effectively be explored.
After a break for lunch, the party will visit the Butterfly Garden and a "mini museum" which will be set up for the afternoon only.
Visitors are asked to bring packed lunches, but tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available.
Normal admission prices, £1.10 for adults, 55p for children and concessions, apply. There will be no charge for Friends of Preston Park
