A COLLEGE is planning its own tribute to Scotland's most famous poet - and hoping to raise money for important equipment.
Finchale Training College on the outskirts of Durham, which trains disabled people for work, is holding a Burns supper on Saturday, February 2, at 7.30pm.
As well as a three-course meal, there will be the traditional toast to Robbie Burns and live entertainment.
College spokeswoman Rachel Chetwyn said: "As with all our fundraising events, all of the money raised from the evening will be used to improve the college's training, residential and recreational facilities, which will make a huge difference to our disabled students.
"We are currently fundraising for specialist equipment such as dyslexia support software, lumbar chairs for those suffering from chronic back problems and CCTV for the visually-impaired.''
Tickets are limited, costing £11.50 each, to include a three-course meal and glass of wine.
