A VICAR has won a bursary to help fund her theology studies.
The Reverend Elizabeth Baxter, of Thirsk, North Yorkshire, is joint director of Holy Rood House Centre for Health and Pastoral Care, near Thirsk.
She will be studying subjects which she hopes will help her respond more appropriately to the demands made upon her as a counsellor, spiritual director, speaker and trainer.
Her studies are part of a research degree at Leeds University and the bursary is one of 39 given to clergy across the country by the Ecclesiastical Insurance Group.
The findings of all those given bursaries will be published on the Internet.
