COUNTY Durham pop group Prefab Sprout went From Langley Park to Memphis, according to the title of their album.

Now, Durham People's Opera Group is offering budding singers the chance to go from Stanley to Covent Garden.

The group will perform its community opera, Sell-By, at Stanley Civic Theatre on Thursday and Friday, July 5 and 6.

This will be followed by a show at the Linbury Studio Theatre, Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, on Sunday, July 8.

The group needs people to sing in the chorus, soloists, orchestra members and non-performing helpers, such as stagehands and make-up artists.

Singers, whatever their experience, are welcome to learn new songs and choral parts in Sell-By.
