THIEVES attacked three cars at a country park in less than an hour at the weekend.
In the first attack, the criminals left empty-handed after smashing the front nearside window of a blue Vauxhall Corsa, registration number N369 MFT, at Hardwick Country Park, Sedgefield.
The theft happened between 2.30pm and 3.02pm on Sunday.
The owner of a Renault 5, registration number H677 NAJ, was not so lucky, because the thieves, who smashed the front nearside door lock, stole a large black leather bag.
Inside the bag was a purse, about £60 in cash, house keys, a cheque book and cheque cards. The raid happened between 2.15pm and 3.06pm.
In the third attack, which happened between 2.30pm and 3pm, the rear nearside window of a red Montego estate, registration number L864 FON, was smashed.
Property taken included a navy blue fabric handbag, a shoulder bag and a silver purse, including cash, a Motorola mobile telephone and cheque guarantee cards.
