STUDENTS will step out on the catwalk later this week to help raise money for a leading cancer charity.
The event, featuring youngsters from Durham University, will be held at the university's Van Mildert College on Sunday, at 7pm, to aid the Cancer Research Campaign.
The charity funds a third of all research in the UK and is a European leader in the development of anti-cancer drugs.
The fashion show, which is being organised by students Ben Redshaw and Adam Bailey, will feature the spring ranges of local clothes stores.
They have organised similar events before and are hoping that the show will net the charity £1,200.
Mr Redshaw said: "We wanted to do something worthwhile and I am sure that people will enjoy this fashion extravaganza. We are thrilled with the amount of support we have had from Durham retailers and we thank everyone very much indeed.''
Jill Collier, of the Cancer Research Campaign, said: "Ben and Adam have worked really hard to put this fashion show together and I am sure it will be a huge success."
Tickets cost £2 each and are available from the Cancer Research Campaign's charity shop in Silver Street, Durham, as well as the Etam, Marks and Spencer and Reef stores in the city and the reception area at Van Mildert College
